Bulgaria is a good choice if you want to make a family holiday combined with some fair birding. Even in the hottest summer months a nice selection of breeders can be found: Great Bustard, Saker Falcon, Eastern Imperial Eagle, Dalmatian Pelican, Pygmy Cormorant, Rock Partridge, Capercaillie, Rosy Starling, Pied Wheatear, Masked Shrike, Paddyfield and Olive-tree Warblers, Wallcreeper, Western Rock Nuthatch, White-backed Woodpecker ssp. lilfordi and Black-headed Bunting all belong to the breeding fauna of this variable, medium-sized European Union member state.
Pesiikö Bulgariassa valkoselkätaskuja vai ei? 23.6.2017 näin lähellä Nos Emonan niemenkärkeä majakan kaiteella Oenanthe -koiraan, joka ainakin päällisin puolin näytti suuresti valkoselkätaskulta. Valitettavasti en saanut linnusta minkäänlaista dokumenttiä. Linnun lennähtäessä pois pyrstössä erottui mielestäni selvä ja tasaleveä kärkivyö. Jos joku jaksaa kiinnostua aiheesta, kannattaa vilkaista ainakin nämä:

Sunny Beach, Pomorie and Nessebar
Sunny Beach is the biggest and the most traditional resort in Bulgaria. Some protected sand dunes lie between the hotel area and the beach, with the strong stench of Wild Privet (Ligustrum) in the air. The beach is 8km's long and the area is packed with 600 hotels and countless restaurants and nightclubs!

Noc Emona
Nos Emona (Cape Emona) is a quiet, small peninsula about one hours drive from Sunny Beach to north. The road from the main road E87 was very variable in quality and some parts were barely driveable. This is where the Balkan Mountains range unites with the Black Sea.
