A wasted beauty

This beautiful juvenile female Montagu's Harrier was found wounded today in Batumi, Georgia. The bird had shooting wounds and its humerus bone was broken. It had to be put to sleep, such a waste of a beautiful bird! Shooting raptors is forbidden in Georgia, but poaching is still all too common. If you want to help and put an end to illegal killings, please donate either for SABUKO, a local BirdLIfe partner or Batumi Raptor Watch or visit Batumi to watch most intense raptor migration in the Western Palearctic - count data for this season here.
